Derek Wiens

I have had a passion for finance since childhood, when my grandfather began holding monthly meetings to teach my brother and I about investing and the time value of money. This led me to Wilfred Laurier University where I graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in finance. During those years, I gained valuable business experience by starting and operating my own window cleaning business during the summers.

I began my professional career in insurance in 2007, first as an advisor and eventually managing the agency. I received my mutual fund license in 2012 and moved to an organization that allowed me to provide comprehensive financial advice and planning services to my clients. I have achieved the Certified Financial Planner® (CFP) designation as well as the Certified Health Insurance Specialist (CHS) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designations, the latter of which indicates a deep understanding of life insurance and risk management for individuals and businesses.

My goal is to understand what matters most to you and your family and work with you to build a plan to achieve your goals, while working to manage the risks that may arise along the way. You can expect to receive the same high level of service and attention to detail that Lismar Financial is known for in Orangeville and the surrounding areas.

On a personal level, I live in the Collingwood area with my wife and two young children. When we aren’t busy chasing them around everywhere they go, we enjoy planning a nice meal to pair with one of our favorite old-world wines.
